Wing Mounts

Required Parts:

  • 4x M1.4 6mm Screws

  • 4x M1.4 ('small') Nuts

  • 4x Small Metal Washers

  • 4x Metal Wing Mounts

Assemble wing mounts to the upper frame as shown in images below.

Important Notes:

  • Make sure to install wing mounts to the correct side of the frame. They should be screwed to the bottom side of the frame.

  • Make sure the bend goes the correct direction. The mounts should bend upward.

  • Make sure to install the wing mounts in the correct holes on the frame. This is especially important for the two front mounts. It is easy to install using the incorrect holes. Double check the illustration below.

  • The washers should be used between the screw heads and the frame. Washers are not required on the bottom side of the wing mounts - use the nuts directly on the bottom with no washers.

  • Note the wing mounts sweep an angle slightly forward.

  • Attach the wing mounts tight. You will bump these mounts from time to time during the rest of the install. As the move somewhat, the nuts can become loose again. The front mounts can be tightened again in the future if they become loose, but the rear nuts can be difficult to re-tighten after the Spirit Main Board is installed. If the rears need to be tightened again, this can be accomplished by using thin tweezers between the frame and the Main Board then tightening the nut on the bottom.

  • It is not required, but if you want, you can use some blue LocTite style thread locking compound for these mounts. This will reduce the likelihood of them becoming loose again. Once the wings are attached they will be less likely to become loose again.

  • DO NOT INSTALL THE WINGS AT THIS TIME. We are only adding the mounts in this step.

Note the correct mounting locations and angles for the wing mounts. Be careful to avoid using the holes marked by the red X marks in the above image.
